Anonymous: I see what you meant about not liking "Allegiant Tobias". I feel like he was written a lot differently in Allegiant than he was in the other two books. I feel kind of like he was stripped of his identity as a character by the way he was written in Allegiant.
I think he was written in the same way anon, but we saw him differently because we saw what Tris saw
I was thinking that Tobias wasn’t as appealing to me in Allegiant because we “saw what Tris saw” so we kind of experienced him ourselves. He was a mystery, and Tris was trying to figure him out as much as we were. Allegiant Tobias just seemed fake, like he wasn’t acting like himself
Anonymous: I think when we saw into Tobias' thoughts in Allegiant we saw who he really was and not who he was trying to be. In Tris' eyes he's a really tough guy with a strong will and he's confident and believes in her. But when we actually saw his mind I think we all just realized that Tris didn't really see the real him. I think thts why a lot of if didn't like Tobias in Allegiant. Bc he acted as if he was a different character rather than what Tris saw in him
